The lounge is again a light & airy space with views down over the driveway & a distant sea-peep !! There is plenty of seating & a 46” TV. Free Wi Fi is available.

The White House has two South facing bedrooms, both with en-suite shower rooms. The Master bedroom has a King size bed & the other  has two single beds which, with notice, can be arranged as a super King size bed.

At the rear of the property is a small gravelled yard with garden furniture & a bar-be-que for guest’s use.

Additional Information:

Access to Torquay’s harbour side with all of its pubs, clubs, restaurant’s & bars is a 5-10 minute walk down hill. The walk back is a little longer and at the end of a long day of exploring Torbay & all it has to offer it’s sometimes worth investing in a cab ride back up the hill.

All linen & towels (including pool towels) is provided as well as a welcome pack of goodies.

Weekly changeover days are from Friday to Friday

Children over 10 years of age are welcome. Sorry no pets.

Access Statement for The White House at Cary Court

Introduction

Torquay like Rome was built on seven hills. Cary Court and the White House are situated up one of those hills and occupy a sloping site. Cary Court is a period property with later more modern extensions,

The White House is one of the more modern extensions. The White House guests are welcome to share the garden year round from 10:30 am to 7:30 pm. and pool (seasonal) please enquire at time of booking Access is gained either via the main House or via a side gate to the garden. There are many “spiky” plants in the garden that may cause injury. As well as the out door pool there is a pond, when wet, boardwalks and decking may be hazardous to the unwary and or Children.

The Guest House provides quality en-suite bed and breakfast accommodation in six letting rooms. The White House provides self catering accommodation in two bedrooms again both en-suite. There is shared on site parking for eight to ten vehicles.

The property is not Licensed. Special dietary needs can be catered for by arrangement for bed and breakfast guests in Cary Court. A welcome pack is provided for self catering guests in The White House.

We do not allow pets of any kind at either Cary Court or the White House. We do not cater for hen or stag groups or children under the age of ten or babies in either Cary Court or the White House

There are outside security lights that automatically turn on and off.

Main Entrance at The White House.

Three steps up to the Entrance door. Entrance dining hall with kitchen are all level and open plan. There are doors to the sitting room and rear hall with further door with step from the rear hall to the rear yard. From the rear hall there is a winding staircase with twelve steps rising to the first floor landing and bedrooms.

Public Areas – (general Information)

There are no lifts in the White House. To the ground floor is wall to wall laminate flooring with the exception of the sitting room where there is a rug. To the stairs and first floor coverings are to close cover. Bathroom floors are hard ceramic tiled. Bathrooms have conventional W.C.s and wash hand basins. Bathrooms are fitted with step in Shower cubicles.

Dining Area and sitting room

The dining room is on the ground floor. Lighting is uniform with strategically place ceiling light fittings as well as side lamps in the sitting room.

Kitchen

There is a fully fitted, well equipped kitchen in the White House including wall and base units with tiled splash backs, there is double bowl sink with mixer tap, a fridge freezer, oven, hob, cooker-hood, dish washer, washer dryer, microwave and toaster. There is cutlery, crockery, glass ware as well as pots, pans and other miscellaneous cookery utensils.

Bar-b-que area

To the rear of the White House is a graveled yard, table and chairs for the use of White House guests only There is a gas fired bar-b-que, guests are advised to exercise caution when using the bar-b-que to avoid damage and injury to themselves and/or others.

Pool

There is no life guard on duty. Guests are advised to read the notices published in the bedroom browsers as well as those posted close to the facility. There is an emergency bell close to the pool.

Garden.

Guests are welcome to use the Veranda and garden, but are reminded the wooden surfaces are very slippery when wet, there are many steps, water hazards as well as exotic trees and plants which may be “spiky” and can cause injury.

Shop

There is no shop at the Guest House. Nor at the White House.

Treatment rooms.

There are no treatment rooms at the property. Guests who wish to use the pool are advised to read the notices published in the bedroom browsers with regard to availability times and safety as well as the notices posted near to the respective facility. Guests are advised to consult with a qualified Doctor before using these facilities or taking strenuous exercise.

Conference rooms, club rooms, entertainment

There are no such facilities at the guest house.

We cater for the able bodied at Cary Court Guest House and the White House. We are pleased to welcome those with physical challenges. We cannot guess anybody’s physical condition and whilst we try to cater for all at all times, if a guest has a physical disability we believe it is their responsibility to draw that disability to our attention so that we are better able to help them enjoy their stay with us
